SHOULD TEACHERS INTERACT WITH PARENTS???
From the above story who should be blamed? 😄I know a lot of experienced classroom teachers can relate to this story in their years of experience, working with children. While, some schools give liberty to teachers to relate with parents freely by exchanging phone numbers, attending parents' family functions, and occasional visits, some other schools have very stringent rules and penalties for such actions. Sadly, not every parent understands this, therefore, the teacher is their first target for an attack when things go wrong.
My question is should teachers be allowed to interact with parents or should it be the sole responsibility of the school management just like in the story we just read? For me, I would prefer a more flexible structure where the teachers are free to interact with the parents of the children they teach through any available channel or handle. However, there should be rules or communication guidelines and even frequent training to ensure things are done properly and do not go out of proportion.
