WHAT DOES EASTER MEAN TO YOU?
Happy Easter to everyone reading this piece across the globe๐ค๐ค๐คฉ๐คฉ It's been a period of sober reflection for most Christians and it's a great thing that we can finally celebrate today the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Now, a lot of people are celebrating yet do not know the true meaning of Easter. So many Easter promos, concerts in clubhouses, comedy shows, and movie premieres are ongoing but the true significance of Easter has been left out along the line. We must never get carried away with just the jamboree and partying out there.
๐Easter is crucial and symbolic in the life of every Christian. It reminds us that Jesus Christ once lived on this same planet where we are now, hard as it may seem to believe but it is very true. He lived here on earth just like every living thing created by God. He passed through everything we are encountering here on earth ๐ฏ so he understands any situation we are currently passing through here on earth.
Indeed, it is a crucial time for sober reflection to ruminate on what Jesus Christ came to do, his true purpose on earth. Guess what? So many people think he came to die for the Christians or he died for his disciples and only those who accepted his teachings but NO, that's not correct. Jesus Christ died for the whole world. He aimed to unite man back to God due to so much wickedness on earth and that was exactly what he did. So, he didn't come for only those who treated him nicely but also for those who accused him, scourged him, and crucified him. That's why while breathing his last, he said;
"Father forgive them for they don't know what they are doing." ( The Holy Bible - Luke 23:34)
Forgive๐คฅ๐๐ฏ๐ณ๐ค๐๐คจ like really, forgive??? You know, there's a lot to learn from the lifestyle of Jesus Christ;
1. His forgiveness
2. His love
3. His humility
4. His wisdom
5. His bravery
As I reflect on the true essence of Easter, all these attributes of our Lord ๐ and saviour ๐ keep running through my mind. He had the power as God to destroy all those who punished him but he was humble as a sheep even unto death. He answered all questions at his trial with so much wisdom and intelligence that Pilate and King Herod couldn't find a single fault in him. Despite all the people and the soldiers did to him, oh... how he was flogged and mocked yet he showed them love and forgave them by praying on the cross, "Father forgive them."
Wow...! This is indeed the best part of the year. A time when we can gain so much wisdom from the life of one man who once lived here on earth. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever - Hebrews 13:8 (Quote from The Holy Bible).
This is what Easter means to me. Now, what does Easter truly mean to you? Kindly use the chatbox...๐ I look forward to hearing from you ๐๐คฉ๐คฉ๐๐ HAPPY EASTER๐๐๐
A period of reflection to remember God's love.
